Total cost for this guitar will be around $65. I just remembered I did buy the tuners, got some used Schallers for $50 a while back.

This is a baritone guitar, 27.5 scale. I've since routed for a third humbucker, more pictures to follow. Top, neck and fretboard were found on pallets. Body was found by someones trash. Inlay is vertebrae from a beaver skeleton that I found at a nearby lake.

Pine body, quilted cherry fretboard, flamed maple top, maple neck.
Pickups, bridge and some other parts will be from a B.C. Rich guitar my cousin gave me. Extra pickup from another friend with extras that he said he'd never use. Lots of fun so far!

did you have to treat the bone in any way before inlaying it?

I have this neighbor I don't like very much, and I was thinking...
never mind :O)

thanks

No treatment really, other than soaking the bones in hydrogen peroxide when I first brought the skeleton home. Helps get any gunk off and whitens it up nice.

Time for a bright orange sunburst!

I did this by hand. Don't own a spray gun.

I love the smell of polymerized linseed oil.

Thanks. It looks like a blazing fire when you move it around.

Almost finished!

Just need to fine tune some things and make a cavity cover:

I made this little bridge stop piece to set the strings at a good angle for the bridge. Polishing it up was fun, got it nice n shiny:

The beaver spine inlay:

The top is firey!

And here's some notes on my wiring setup:

It sounds great. I'll make a video as soon as I get around to making a video. Lots of versatility, many cool sounds

Well there's not a back cavity cover on it but I'm done. I'm moving next month so I need to get all my stuff together and get rid of junk we don't need. Guitars must wait until my house is built.

If somebody really wants me to, I can make a youtube vid... But they have to really want it.
